Human rights are rapidly becoming a top priority for financial institutions, including banks and institutional investors across regions and asset classes. Recent regulatory developments in the EU are centering human rights at the heart of the region’s financial system, while the convergence between material risks for business and salient risks to people are increasingly evident. This session will explore the human rights responsibilities of financial actors, and how to apply the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights to financial services.
Scheduled Speakers
- Anita Ramasastry, Representative , UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights
- Ariel Smilowitz, Investment Stewardship, BlackRock
- Naomi Resnick, Senior Manager, Social Impact, Scotiabank
